Joe Valerio

Chief Operating Officer, The Baldwin Group

Joe serves as Chief Operating Officer of The Baldwin Group’s IAS division. A recognized transformational leader with nearly 30 years of industry experience, he previously led the Western Division at World Insurance Associates, overseeing 27 offices across 13 states with full P&L responsibility and driving sustained revenue growth, operational excellence, and successful integrations. Prior to that, Joe was the Chief Operating Officer of the North American Industry Divisions at Willis Towers Watson, leading nearly 3,000 colleagues and generating more than $1.2 billion in revenue. He also served as EVP/COO at Lyons.

Earlier in his career, Joe spent five years as a professional athlete with the Kansas City Chiefs. He is also the proud father of triplet daughters.

Leslie Nylund, CPCU

Leslie Nylund is a seasoned insurance executive known for driving growth, building high-performing teams, and leading complex integrations. She currently serves as the National Managing Director for Placement and Insurance Company Partnerships at The Baldwin Group, overseeing national broking strategy and carrier relationships.

Previously, Leslie led regional and national divisions at AHT Insurance and served as President and COO of Sterling Risk, doubling revenue and profitability over five years. She has also held senior leadership roles at Willis and Marsh, where she improved operating performance and led large-scale distribution and placement strategies. Leslie is widely recognized as an industry leader and innovator.

Leslie’s leadership and impact have earned her significant industry recognition, including the Academy of Women Achievers Award, Business Insurance’s Leading 100 Women and 80 Women to Watch honors, Crain’s New York Business Forty Under Forty, the National Association of Insurance Women’s Helen M. Garvin Award, and Business Leader of the Year by the Tilles Center.

Adam Lantrip

EVP, Professional & Cyber Solutions Practice Group, CAC, part of The Baldwin Group

Adam is Executive Vice President and leads CAC Specialty’s Professional & Cyber Solutions practice, bringing more than twenty years of experience serving clients as a trusted advisor in one of the most challenging and dynamic segments of the insurance market.

Adam specializes in complex E&O, Media, and Cyber insurance, developing creative solutions to address emerging risks and support distressed and loss-sensitive clients. Adam’s wide-ranging experience includes nearly all industries, including technology, real estate, financial institutions, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, gaming, and retail.

Peter Mielert  

Head of Y-Risk Innovation Labs, The Hartford Insurance Group, Inc.

Peter is Head of Y-Risk Innovation Labs, focused on leveraging expertise across The Hartford and beyond to develop and deploy innovative products and risk-mitigation capabilities to meet our customers’ changing needs in a dynamic marketplace. Peter joined The Hartford in 2008 and has worked with businesses across the enterprise and with The Hartford’s largest distribution partners. Prior to joining The Hartford, Peter spent 8 years in management consulting in Telecommunications, Technology, Homeland Security, and Intelligence (cleared) sectors.
